Three minutes later and 'The Harriers' scored their first of none tries when an attack by James Richards and Chris Llywellyn broke down on the half way line, Pill gathered the ball and ran at the Senghenydd defense, eventually scoring in the corner for an unconverted try. Three more tries in the space of six minutes saw the away side take a big lead of 22 nil. Senghenydd weren't disheartened though as they scored their own try after 18 minutes. Scrum Half Anthony Parsons fed the ball to Brendon Reynolds who found Cory Griffiths, the ball was kicked deep into the Pill 22, with Geraint Clarke chasing the ball from the half way line and was rewarded with a try in the corner which he failed to convert. As half time approached, Senghenydd were on the back foot but indiscipline by Pill Harriers's number 6 saw them down to 14 men after back chatting the referee. Good defense by Ryan Saunders, Rhys Fishbourne and Owen Ford kept pill at bay and Senghenydd were relieved to be only 17 points adrift when the half time whistle sounded.
Half time score: Senghenydd 5 - 25 Pill Harriers

A second half revival just didn't happen for Senghenydd. Pill added five more tries against a Senghenydd side who were unable to match the power and aggression of a much bigger team. Senghenydd were starting to lose their way a little bit and although wingers Craig Pullin and Patrick Hurley were advancing into the Pill half they were unable to breach the try line. With Pill reaching 51 points, referee Viv Treherne blew up 10 minutes before time. Although Senghenydd beat Pill by 43 points to 7 in their last meeting, the combinations of two sides was just too much in this pool fixture. Senghenydd will need to improve their performance for their next match to get a result.

Coach Gareth Short added: "Even though the score was a very flattering one for Pill it doesn't take away from the fact that our boys showed some terrific heart in this hard fought battle. All three of us coaching staff are very proud of the way that they didn't let their heads drop - even though the opposition was nearly a stone a man heavier and 6 inches taller! They've come a long way this year and have improved immensely, as long as we keep these boys together we'll be a force to be reckoned with in our Under 16's next year. Well done boys, you done us and the club proud today!"
